There are many homeschooling advantages for the parent who wants to give their child a well rounded education and truly wants a hands on approach.
When you are the one deciding what curriculum will be best for your child, that in itself is one of the homeschooling advantages.
Parents know their children. They know what learning style is bet for their child.
One of the advantages of being able to examine the different homeschool programs of study for everyone from pre-kindergarten, to graduation.
Some of the statistics show that another one of the homeschooling advantages is that statistically, these children learn more, performing much better on standardized testing than those in the national average.
That choice of curriculum may have something to do with it. Knowing your child's learning style is the key to picking the right curriculum and that is one of the main deciding factors to whether they thrive or fail.
Some of the programs of study are self-taught and have a pace system.
This is a set of an established number of workbooks that, when completed and tests passed, indicate the child is ready to move on to the next grade level.
For the self motivated child and for the child who has extremely good reading comprehension, this is a great type of curriculum and these children excel at being able to work at their own speed.
Others need a more structured format and truly need to have that instruction.
For those children the homeschooling advantages begin with the fact that the parent recognizes that this is the learning style needed for their child.
The next of the advantages is that there are options that have either the parent doing lesson plans and truly teaching the child everything or the entire school day's lessons can be on dvd or video and the student just watches them while the parent supervises.
It is critical that the parent does supervise though and is there to answer questions.
Homeschooling advantages are really endless. There are so many concerns today with all that the children are exposed to and the challenges that face them.
Violence is a concern with all of the metal detectors that now grace the entrances of most of your public schools.
Everything is in the hands of the parent when you are homeschooled.
It is a comforting feeling for the parent to know that the success of their child is dependent on them and them alone.

And although you can assure them they are a high school graduate, having a diploma can remind them to always say YES if asked if they have one. [READ FULL ARTICLE]
